As I age I find comfort in that

Better to let ugly experiences

rest in bad dreams

For that is what they feel like…

not real

Such a gift that is for those

who know how to let go

of their nightmares

and cling to sweet memories.

I look at the little boy

cheerful
innocent
lost
in his world

I want to 
hold

comfort

and make 

his happiness 

real.

I look at the little girl

vulnerable 

trusting

alone

in her world

I want to 
console

protect

and take her fear
away

Different lives

united 

as one

Can it be done

fulfill each one?

Him so insecure

Her so afraid

I have to take a big breath

make love to patience

for patience owns this story.

is a good place to be

it sets you free.

To know is like being

in a cell

no way to tell 

what is

real.

No need to make

a big deal

out of in life

when you don’t have 

the answers

only questions.

Which will be

responded to with

I don’t know?

Only a fool

knows it all.
