SWEET SIMPLICITY

Sweet Simplicity
you entice me with your beauty

To live in the darkness of complexity
stops my heart from beating

Child like smiles turn to
frowns

My door stays closed
as does my mind
when I am approached with
dark matter

I run and search for you
Sweet Simplicity

For I know you will fill my soul
with tranquility
and keep my attention
on that which brings peace

Not on that which brings
anger and ugly possibilities

I stay true to you despite the pull
some have put on me

For

You entice me with your beauty
Sweet Simplicity

And

For that I will always be …
eternally grateful.

LOVE GARDEN

He says he loves you when
in fact
wants to own you

He is

invasive
like bamboo

crawls up you
like ivy

chokes you out
like clover

Part of you wants
it over

But

The other part wants to
work hard
to clean up the garden

and

pray for flowers
to bloom.

MOONSHINE

The words out your mouth
come without attachment

Holding onto nothing
void of discovery

Only the desire to echo
and hear your own voice

Such a waste of sound

The chitchat flies to judgment
and condemnation

Knowledge resting on an empty shelf
an unpacked suitcase

Best to zip your lip
until you open your door

To actuality.

MORNING WALK

Why can’t we do it in the road

No one likes to step on it
sticks to their soul
hard to get off
at least that’s what I’m told

Why can’t we do it in the road

Such a relief
tho brief
very hard to hold

Why can’t we do it in the road.
