Life is like a bowl of cherries

with plenty of pits 

if you are void of purpose

Sadness can be looming

then suddenly a project only you can do

comes into your day

People

can’t live with em

can’t live without em

Humans can be a real pain

but they can stop the rain

from falling on your head

Make you happy

you are not dead

Even tho you dread 

some social functions

EASY STREET

Why are roads 

jammed at 2 pm

Why are stores

crammed at 3 pm

Cuz

Nobody works

But 

Everybody buys stuff…

Is money growing on trees

if so please

tell me where

I seem to be last in line

unable to find

easy street

Is it on a map

if so please

tell me where it’s at

Do I need to shop at

midnight

to avoid the crowd

Where do these people work

am I just a jerk

toiling away

to make money each day

when others have found 

the hidden treasure

It would be a pleasure

to be on the list

with those who live in bliss

The ones that are on the roads at 2 PM

and in the stores at 3 PM.

HELPS THE MEDICINE GO DOWN

Money Money Money

oh honey it does not solve all your problems

but does help the medicine go down

Not willing to buy expensive meals

always looking for good deals

Yet when it comes to buying things on line

 my resistance flees as does my mind

Amazon is my best friend

so many boxes at my door

and all over my floor

The UPS man knows me by name

I have no shame

I just keep pushing that “buy now” button

Online shopping should be added

to the anonymous

That's a meeting I ought to attend

Though I know I am debilitated 

not sure I want to be rehabilitated 

For the joy I receive is worth it indeed

I JUST AIN'T THAT STRONG

If no drama is the law

put me in jail

cuz I just ain’t that strong

Mine eyes have seen the gory

and will hopefully see the coming of the lord

Try to hold my head high

but I can’t lie

It’s tough to do today…

Some times the dark hole

grabs my foot and tries to pull me under

Faith is my only friend

and I hold on to it

The power of faith

keeps me from falling down the tunnel

down under where darkens lives

My finger tips are above it 

hope they don’t get stepped on

cuz I just ain’t that strong

Bring me the beauty of the lilies

and the morning wave
