If you were in a garden full of flowers 

with some weeds

Would you look at the flowers

and enjoy their beauty

Would you look at the weeds

thinking the gardener needs 

to do a better job?

Finding comfort and happiness

can seem impossible

with each chapter

the characters may change

but the story seems the same…

relationships are tough

being alone is rough

Just when you think you’ve found

the cure

the walls come tumbling down

revealing the truth

relationships are tough

All one can do is shrug your shoulders

and keep

plowing thru life

grabbing all the comfort and happiness

you can along the way.

BLINDED BY LOVE

Just because you love someone

does not mean being with them

is wise

Wouldn’t that be wonderful and simple

if that were true

It’s best to open your eyes

and guard your heart

Walk carefully 

and know 

The only guarantee

in life is that it

begins

is a story you have

limited control

over

Do not be blinded by love

MAN DO I HATE BEING LIED TO

My mind goes into a blank state

who’s on first what’s on second

Want to believe what I hear

know a lot is not clear

from the mouth of a liar

On shaky ground 

when all can not be compared

due to closed mouths 

of those too scared

to share their truth

The liar is loud

and proud

so he causes others pain

pores down rain

on their heads

hopes to blind with his sound

Too much power for the deceitful one

he needs to be unplugged from the wall

He needs to stand up tall

and confess

His world is all that is real

in his crazy deal

makes it up as he goes

Who knows

maybe this time he will be caught

and face the lot

of lies he weaves

NO SURPRISE

There are those that keep their heads in the clouds

they can’t see anything or anyone around them

They are great actors

convincing others that they care

when all the time their heads are in the clouds

What is real is no big deal

to them

Only what they want to see

matters

They reek havoc over those that can not

be fooled

Leaving trash all around 

But they can not see it

because their heads are in then clouds

INDIAN PRINCESS

The Indian princess owns the clouds 

she opens and closes them 

with the blink of her eyes

She casts a veil

of billowing clouds in the sky

as she slumbers thru winter

Come spring the princess awakes

and begins to reveal the secret of her home

A magnificent mountain named Rainer

the strong counselor of her land

The mountain commands respect

with it’s ominous possibility 

The Indian princess cloaks Rainer with her clouds 

sharing her secret when she chooses

with the blink of her eyes
