Flying fish wish to escape
their predators
They take flight
to avoid a fight
They’ll never win.
They have special fins
that work like wings
Lifting them out of
the sunlight zone
Where most plants and animals
inhabit.
They can glide
quite a distance
Providing them
assistance
For their resistance
to their foes.
Who knows
how their special
gift was composed
But it comes in handy
is quite dandy
When dealing with
the reality of the ocean’s
fatality…
