TO THE ONE

I have been married
yet not had a husband

For a husband protects his wife
she becomes his life
his blood
his body

To cut her off
is to cut off his own arm

To harm her
is to harm himself

Marriage is a union
of two souls

There is no division
of a true marriage

It can only be divided
by death

So again I say to you

I have been married
yet not had a husband

O what a glory it would be
to find true marriage
with thee.
